I made a scribble expression, choosing to ruin an intimidating canvas. Finding this way of throwing my self into work, challenging my perfectionism and need to know before beginning. I found myself wanting to know how things occur simultaneously, especially when it feels as though one truth is enough. I explored this in different phases and spaces in my life, and it even travelled with me in progress. A first for me.

This was my second piece that I worked on after using scribble method to load some of the intense pressure building in my life around 2023 and 2024. When I finally moved into my current, most lovely space, I came understand how free a feeling a can be when you know how far your own limit is.

Geometrics have been such a joy. This was one of the first times where I approached shapes and the pieces within myself with more intention. The shapes were overlapping, yet distinct. Together but confined.

At the time I was lucky enough to be living in a penthouse that looked over the Elbow River. I had never lived anywhere like that place, it felt like looking out of a tower. Through that window I could feel a shattering that came in pieces.

How do parts feel being more defined? Understood? Acknowledged? Over the practice of finding their hard edges, there was the motion of swirling from a fixed point. In this way I began to feel motion.

Everything is more fluid than before. The stiffness in my body and my perspective is beginning to change. My parts mirror each other, in their own distinction, playfully following one another through the intricacy of my life. I can feel my own ups and downs.
